Paper and cardboard

One of the easiest and most effective ways of reducing our carbon footprint on the planet is by recycling our waste paper and cardboard. Capital City Waste Services can help you to easily recycle these waste materials and produce new and practical products. By recycling paper and cardboard, you can help to save rainforests and reduce your negative impact on the planet. Capital City Waste Services can help you do this.
We can collect waste paper and cardboard from your home or office on a weekly or two weekly schedule, depending on your location.  We transfer the waste to our recycling facility where it is processed for reclamation and converted into new products.

By recycling paper and cardboard, rather than producing new paper from trees, energy costs can be reduced and less water is required to recycle paper and cardboard than is used in the production of a new product. Paper and cardboard can be recycled over and over again.

What Types of Paper and Cardboard Can Be Recycled?
Almost anything including the following:

  • Junk mail, brochures, newsletters and other advertising material.
  • Plain or coloured office or photocopying paper
  • All envelopes, even if they have a window face
  • Newspapers and Magazines
  • Printed documents and old telephone books
  • Shredded paper in any form is also acceptable for recycling

Some types of paper and cardboard cannot be recycled, especially those which return to their original shape after being compressed. This includes things like

  • Waxed paper or cardboard
  • Food wrappings
  • Flimsy paper such as paper toweling or tissue paper
  • Cardboard which has attached plastic or metal parts, such as Lever Arch files, cannot be recycled.

Capital City Waste Services can provide office bins into which you can place your waste paper and cardboard. This offers you the convenience of being able to recycle your paper and cardboard waste on site. We provided coloured bins which are rated to Australian Standards and we collect the contents of these bins on a regular basis.

To ensure the best possible outcome for your recycled paper waste, we also offer under-desk cardboard boxes to hold recycled paper in the office as well as a range of different bin sizes for use internally and externally.
